”Do not be afraid….” Instead…

A couple weeks ago in a TV interview, the former vice president said something like “the [political] system is broken.” After seeing that, I was led (by my Guidance😁) to several pieces of information that just begged me to connect the dots…

The Dots

The KH quote was followed by more dots:

I stumbled upon a YouTube video by Afefe Tyehimba—former journalist and now political medium. Afefe cited the same KH quote and then shared some Guidance she had gotten:

The system may be broken but “we” are not.

And that led me to…

Dot #3
For some reason (thanks again, Guidance!😀) the “we” brought up for me a common saying, “There are more of us than them.” I was led to research that saying. So, per my ChatGPT AI app:

Historical and Political Usage
The idea that “the people” outnumber the ruling class, military, or elite has been a recurring theme in revolutions and resistance…quotes like:

The power of the people is stronger than the people in power.”

And…

Biblical Parallel
A spiritual version is in scripture 2 Kings 6:16 that appears in the holy books of several religions, including the Catholic and Protestant Old Testament, and the Jewish Tanahk (the complete Jewish Bible):

Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

And that led me to…

Dot #4
The “us” in the saying got me wondering about the U.S. population. A Google search found some interesting stats:

(Note: Accurate numbers can depend on the source or polling organization, the wording of the polling questions, and the size and composition of the polling sample. These are the best sources and numbers I could find in my search.)

  • U.S. adult population (age 18+) in 2025: 268 million (projection based on U.S. Census Bureau 2024 numbers)
  • Percent of U.S. adult population (age 18+) who identify as “red hats”:
Max estimate: at most, 20% or approximately 53.6 million people (per Economist/YouGov 2024–2025)
More likely estimate: less than 16.7% or approximately 44.7 million people, therefore fewer than 1 in 6 adults (per Washington Post Opinion/Analysis July 16, 2025)

So somewhere between 45 and 54 million adults identify as red hats. Let’s average that to 50 million American adults identify as red hats.

Therefore, doing the math, between 80% and 83.3% (between 214 and 223 million) of American adults are NOT red hats—let’s call them “purple hats.” And let’s average that to 218 million purple hats.

So 218 million purple hats minus 50 million red hats = there’s approximately 168 million more purple hats than there are red hats.

>>> Bottom line: There are waaay more purple hats than there are red hats.

Further, the total number of state and federal “red” elected officials (not all red hats) is approximately 4,372. So there are 4,372 “red” federal + state representatives  vs. 168 million purple hats.

Granted, there are a lot of very loud red hat “squeaky wheels,” which makes it seem like they’re the majority. But as the above numbers show, the red hats are most definitely NOT the majority. Of course, not all purple hats are vocal or even paying attention or upset about it all—but A LOT are.

And now, apparently the number of disgruntled Americans appears to be growing as the policies of the executive branch are beginning to negatively affect (and even piss off) more and more people (including red hats), and even the traditionally predominately “red” business/corporate community. More and more people—regardless of their hat color—are seeing that our democracy is threatened and seek to protect it. (Let’s call them the “white hats”—as in the classic trope of “white hats to the rescue” in cowboy movies.)

And that led me to…

An estimated 5 million (disgruntled) Americans attended the “No Kings” protest on June 14 of this year. And I’m absolutely positive there were a lot more people who wanted to attend but couldn’t (like me—even with a new knee, thoracic spine arthritis makes it difficult for me to stand or walk for any length of time).

I was led to some really inspiring photos, including:

And as I write this, even if you’re not seeing it in the news, there are MANY protests breaking out around the country. Americans are not happy in general with what’s happening as reflected in a mid-July 2025 Gallup poll of U.S. adults about the “mood of the nation”:

67% of Americans are dissatisfied with the way things are going in the country
vs.
33% are satisfied

So…

Connecting the Dots: My Conclusions

The turnout of No Kings and other protests popping up plus other positive activities I read about confirm my faith in Americans. I have faith that, ultimately, (most) Americans will do the right thing. And will insist that the right thing is done.

For now, there are clearly more purple hats than there are red hats and also more purple hats than “red” federal and state representatives. And of those purple/NOT-red-hats, there are increasingly more people who want to preserve our democracy, and to make it even better rather than destroy it. The “resistance” is growing bigger and stronger every single day.

The white hats who want to protect democracy just have to become “squeakier”—to speak up more and do more. My sentiments are repeated by many, MANY sources, including Boston University historian Heather Cox Richardson:**

“You should absolutely be concerned about the ways in which the administration is trying to garner power. Absolutely. They’re trying to create an autocracy. They’re trying to creat a dictatorship. There’s no doubt about that.

“However, they remain a very small number of Americans, and more than 50% of Americans voted for somebody other than [you-know-who]. His popularity has plummeted since then, it’s now in the 30s.

“So recognize that we—those of us protecting small “d” democracy, who want to get rid of these radicals who want to take away our democracy and turn it into Christian nationalism—we are by far the majority. And we need to start acting like it, and reminding people that we are a democracy. We have agency. This is our government. And to tell people what we want from that.”

THIS is the perfect (and critical) time to tell our local/state/federal representatives what we want. AND what we don’t want. We need to make it clear that, among other things, the majority of Americans do NOT like innocent children, women and men being snatched off the streets and “disappeared”; we do NOT like “due process” being trampled on; and we do NOT like having our military turned on us. This is reflected in the “mood of the nation” numbers above: 67% dissatisfied vs. 33% satisfied.

“They” who are scrambling to implement such draconian policies, and issuing ultimately unenforceable executive orders are working hard to ensure that our voices don’t matter now or in the future. So, again, we need to be very clear and very loud “squeaky wheels” in letting all of “them” know that the majority of us do NOT support these policies.

What does this have to do with Oneness? Well, I repeat something I wrote here in a previous blog after my Guidance said VERY clearly and emphatically to me (emphasis included):

There is nothing, NOTHING more important for Humanity to do as a whole right now
than to come together as One to effect change.

In other words, the entire point of this blog: Oneness. And creating a new reality, a New Paradigm. Not just for the United States, but for all of Humanity.

So…

Do not be afraid….” Our being afraid is EXACTLY what “he”/they want: people paralyzed and unable to act/retaliate because of fear and intimidation.

Instead: Let your voice be heard. And as I often say: Do something, anything. If you tune in to your Guidance—your inner-knowing—you’ll know what to say and/or do.

I (and many others) believe we’re at a critical time in history not only for our democracy but for Humanity at large—what we do in the United States reverberates and is copied around the world.

Experts are saying that taking over a country’s capital city (like is happening right now) is directly out of the authoritarian play book. But the United States isn’t like any other country that has become an autocracy. We’re a republic consisting of individual states with their own governments. Even if some states capitulate, there are still many others that will not.

We also have a many tiered justice system. Even if “he” has friends in high places (like the “highest court”), court cases can take a lot of time to wend their way through the system. And that has and will continue to slow down, weaken, and even shoot down many of the things “he” proclaims he’s going to do. (Per the non-partisan The Fulcrum news source, since January 2025, over 186 legal actions have been filed against the administration. Of those, only 4 have already been adjudicated. So don’t believe that everything he says he’s going to do will, in fact, happen right away, if at all.)

Likewise, unlike citizens of other countries that have fallen to dictators, Americans have a long history of enjoying freedoms and “inalienable rights.” We’re not going to take kindly to those rights being taken away from us (or our fellow Americans) one after another after another. I believe that at some point very soon, the majority of us are going to say, “Enough is enough!” And we’re pretty spunky (= courageous and determined). So nobody should underestimate us.

And know that just because you’re not seeing it in national news, the “resistance” is happening in a zillion ways in communities everywhere. Yes, in big protests but also, for example, numerous political postcard writing campaigns, and people of all ages wearing message t-shirts. The ongoing duel between locals and the Florida authorities about the Pulse Club rainbow memorial crosswalk—authorities paint it black and people come right back and re-do the rainbow, and back and forth, repeatedly. White people in L.A. putting Mexican flag bumper stickers on their cars and trucks, forcing “ice” to waste time stopping them only to find that the driver is white and well “documented.”

I heard Yale historian and professor Joanne Freeman say that the “We” in “We the people” is a very big WE. And WE need to come together and actively push back and protect our democracy. And WE need to do it now. As I’ve written here many times:

There’s no one person [not even that California guy],
no political party or organization, corporate or business entity,
no single group or non-profit,
and not even any ETs who are going to do this for us.
It’s up to all of us to do it.

And I firmly believe we will. I firmly believe that this will all work out. That the perpetrators of all this chaos will fail and fall—they’re already imploding, and many of their policies are failing, being stymied, or backfiring on them. And I firmly believe that the United States and Humanity as a whole will rebuild and come out of this even better than before.

It won’t be easy, and unfortunately more people will suffer until then, but it WILL eventually work out. That doesn’t mean we just sit back and wait for it to happen. WE have to make both parts happen: the fail/fall AND the rebuild.

Lastly…

If the underlining above wasn’t enough, I’m going to repeat:

The system may be broken but “we” are not.

The power of the people is stronger than the people in power.”

There are waaay more purple hats than there are red hats.

There are 4,372 “red” federal + state representatives  vs. 168 million purple hats

More and more people—regardless of their hat color—are seeing that our democracy is threatened and seek to protect it. (Let’s call them the “white hats”—as in the classic trope of “white hats to the rescue” in cowboy movies.)

THIS is the perfect (and critical) time to tell our local/state/federal representatives what we want. AND what we don’t want.

Let your voice be heard. And as I often say: Do something, anything. If you tune in to your Guidance—your inner-knowing—you’ll know what to say and do.

You have a choice to make. You can:

  • be paralyzed into inaction by fear or anger about it all, or
  • let others handle it, or
  • do something positive to help fix it

What’s it gonna be for you?
